BIRDING FUN. Saguaro National Park East. 3693 Old Spanish
Trail. Several birding opportunities are scheduled throughout
May. Take a leisurely one-mile hike at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, May 10.
More vigorous sunrise hikes are scheduled for Saturday, May 16.
Flashlight-guided night walks are available from 7:30 to 9:30
p.m. the second and fourth Friday of each month. Call 733-5153

BIRDTUCSON CELEBRATION: Tucson Audubon Society, 300 E.
University Blvd. Celebrate the Birds of Tucson from 3 to 9 p.m.
Festivities will feature live music by the Rocking Robins and
strolling musicians; birdcalling, bird joke, and bird costume
contests; raffle drawing for trip to San Carlos beaches and other
prizes; discussions and presentations for children and adults
by expert naturalists Doris Evans, Doug Koppinger, and Dean Radtke;
displays and a potluck dinner. Call 622-5622 for the schedule.
TOHONO CHUL PARK. 7366 N. Paseo del Norte. 742-6455. Learn
the art of Nature journaling from
8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at one of three Saturday workshops, May
9, 16 and 23. The cost is $20 for members, $25 for non-members.
Walk in the Park tours, an overview of the park's 48 acres
and its flora and fauna, are offered at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Thursday
and Saturday, and at
1 p.m. Sunday. Art in the Park tours, docent-guided looks
at gallery exhibits, are at 11 a.m. Tuesday and Thursday, and
at 2 p.m. Sunday. The park offers additional guided tours for
your enjoyment. The Birds of Tohono Chul tour provides
opportunities to observe the many species frequenting the park,
at 8 a.m. Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Grounds are
open from 7 a.m. to sunset daily. Exhibit hours are 9:30 a.m.
to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday,
11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $2. Call 742-6455 daily
